Ingredients

  • 280 g (420 g) flour

  • 210 g (315 g) butter

  • 110 g (165 g) sugar

  • 140g (210 g) almonds chopped very, very fine

  • 1 c powdered sugar

  • 3 T vanilla sugar

  • First figures are for a single recipe - in brackets is for 1 1/2 recipe which is usually the right amount

Kipfel (Pecan/Almond Cresants)

Robin's Christmas favorite.

Method

  1. Mix flour and butter with a fork.
  2. Add sugar and almonds and mix into smooth dough.
  3. Take small pieces and roll then cut into 2 inch by 1/2 inch rounds. Then shape into crescents.
  4. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 300F until lightly brown (approx. 20 min)
  5. Roll them while still hot (cooled only 2 min) in powdered sugar mix (powdered sugar mixed with a little vanilla sugar).
